TRACE

Trace began as I was exploring the sense of permanence in everyday objects. As the project developed; the sentiment of absence was becoming a central element of the work. My editing of the work included, the loss of detail and colour. This created a detachment from the items original purpose and symbolized their ultimate abandonment.

The items I collected were items I had used throughout the day; here in our present time, destined to be discarded, leaving behind only an imprint, be that physical or environmentally. These once modest everyday objects were no longer served their original purpose, now merely suggested; visually reincarnated, valued now only for the beauty discovered in their form over context.

My Trace collection investigates beauty within form and structure of everyday items normally categorized as trash.
